This setting is called “Console Lock display off timeout”. This particular setting, along with another one that is suspect, is a HIDDEN power option setting, and registry manipulation is required in order to have those settings appear again within the Advanced Power Options dialog. This led me to begin researching why this behavior is occurring, which led me to this Microsoft article. I’m guessing that this blanking of the screen is causing the screen to stop updating the screen on the Horizon Client side, but still displays the last-sent screen update before the console goes dark on the vCenter side. What I noticed is that the console screen would blank out about 1 minute after I lock the screen. I tried checking the behavior of the VM via the vCenter console. It's possible that the thin client you're using may be perceived as a blank screen. The lock screen's clock would not update unless the user moves the mouse or presses a key. I'm not sure if this is related to what you're experiencing, but we recently resolved an ongoing issue with our Windows 10 lock/login screens not updating on our Windows based View clients for our Windows 10 VMs. That being the case, if you run into this issue and want to know resolution, please comment (after 1/15/20) and I will let you know what was found. I'll try to remember to update this afterward to give results, but I know me pretty well, and I will probably forget. Update: After listening to everyone's responses and taking into account things that were attempted before I was moved to this client, we have decided that after the holidays, we are going to update View to 7.10, and see how that goes. Any ideas are very much appreciated, as I'm sure this is annoying to anyone in the situation with SEC/HIPAA constraints. All we've gotten from VMWare support is "idk, not on approved hardware" and Teradici says we need to remove the lock timer. We have tried Teradici support and VMWare support, figured I'd see if anyone else out there had seen this, and what you might have done to fix it if so? We have Windows 10 OS, on Teradici Firmware 6.3.1 and 6.4.0, which both support vSphere 6.7 and Horizon View 7.8. We are seeing an intermittent issue with Windows 10 displays being blank on login since upgrading to Windows 10.
